Major food nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins must always be available in sufficient amounts to maintain the metabolic needs of the body. Proteins are of prime importance in humans as they are major nutrients essential for the growth and maintenance of the different body structures and they perform specific functions throughout the body. The principal constituents of proteins are amino acids. A high quality protein is one that is not only complete but also contains the essential acids. Of the 20 amino acids, 8 cannot be synthesized in adequate amounts for growth by humans. These amino acids which are called essential amino acids must be supplied by food proteins. It is therefore essential that they be included in the diet. AminoVita softgel capsule incorporates the essential amino acids leucine, isoleucine, lysine HCl, phenylalanine, threonine, valine, tryptophan, and methionine.

The essential amino acids in AminoVita softgel capsule serve as building blocks of proteins which are used for the organization of the different cellular constituents of the body, e.g. collagen, myosin, hemoglobin, keratin, enzymes, hormones, and plasma proteins; albumin, globulin, and fibrinogen. The essential amino acids in AminoVita softgel capsule help maintain the “nitrogen balance” in the human body. A deficiency of one or more essential amino acids restrict growth and protein synthesis, and produce a negative nitrogen balance. Nitrogen loss may be increased by extreme stressful conditions (physiological or environmental). Urinary nitrogen loss as well as increased energy expenditure may also develop as a result of infection, fever, severe burns, surgical or accidental trauma. These conditions may require special dietary adjustment in the form of increased calorie and/or protein intake. The same is true during convalescence from wasting illnesses.

The presence of other nutrients – vitamins and minerals is needed to process proteins. AminoVita softgel capsule is reinforced with fat soluble (vitamins A, D, E) and water soluble vitamins (B complex and vitamin C) to ensure efficient utilization of fats, carbohydrates, and amino acids.

Retinol (vitamin A) plays an essential role in the function of the retina. It is also necessary for growth and differentiation of epithelial tissues and is required for reproduction, embryonic development, and bone growth. Vitamin A appears to enhance the function of the immune system to reduce the consequence of some infectious diseases and to protect the body against the development of certain malignancies.

Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) is very important in maintaining the normal serum levels of calcium and phosphate in the plasma. Vitamin D also facilitates calcium and phosphate absorption by the small intestines to enhance their mobilization from the bone and decrease their excretion by the kidney.

Thiamine (vitamin B1) functions in carbohydrates metabolism as coenzyme in glucose transformation. Independent of its role as a coenzyme, thiamine also plays a role in the transmission of neuromuscular impulses.

Riboflavin (vitamin B2) operates as hydrogen carrier in several of the oxidative systems of the various metabolic processes in the body. Nicotinamide functions in the body as a coenzyme in the forms of NAD and NADP which act as hydrogen acceptors.

Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is needed as a coenzyme for the synthesis of some amino acids (hemoglobin molecule neurotransmitters, etc.) and other body compounds.

Folic acid and cyanocobalamin are important coenzymes in the DNA synthetic pathway. They are needed by the bone marrow to form red blood cells and are also needed in all the other tissues of the body for adequate growth.

AminoVita softgel capsule gives 60 mg of ascorbic acid which answers the body’s daily requirement for vitamin C. Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is very important in synthesis and maintenance of collagen, the protein “cement” substance that support the body tissues (capillary walls, tendons, ligaments, bones, white fibers of the skin) together. As an antioxidant, it protects the different body cells against infection and damage of harmful substances.

AminoVita softgel capsule is specifically valuable in the following conditions:
– in cases where there are considerable nutrient losses as in febrile illnesses, infectious
diseases, strenuous physical activities.

– in several conditions associated with protein loss and/or increased nutritional
requirements as in burns, wounds, bone fracture, convalescence, stress, post-
surgical operations.

– as nutritional supplement in protein and vitamin deficiencies associated
with restrictive or deficient diet as in anorexia, starvation.

– as adjuvant in the therapy of malnutrition, chronic illnesses.

Known hypersensitivity to any of the components.

One to two capsules a day or as prescribed by the physician.
